Literacy Volunteers - Winchester Area

Literacy Volunteers-Winchester Area has a comprehensive library that contains a variety of materials for tutors and students to use. We encourage all volunteers to take full advantage of our library; come in and browse, borrow and perhaps suggest a new title or two. We are always adding current titles. In fact, thanks to The Winchester Rotary Club, LV-WA recently added $1,300 in new library books.

Library List

1. For beginner readers-short stories and chapter books, K-6.

2. Read Along books and tapes with a variety of titles.

3. Reading Comprehension skill books.

4. Writing and grammar guides.

5. Phonics materials, including ‘Hooked on Phonics’ and ‘We All Can Read’
step-by-step phonics program.

6. Curriculums, including Challenger, Laubach, Voyager and Wilson.

7. Math skills books, worksheets and flash cards.

8. GED and Pre-GED study guides.

9. Cookbooks and Restaurant Menus.

10. Geography materials, including atlas, globe and maps.

11. Tutor training/resource guides.

12. Scrabble games and dictionaries.

13. Financial Literacy materials and curricula.

14. Dictionaries, Thesaurus, Picture Dictionaries.

15. English as a Second Language Curricula, books, and workbooks.

16. U. S. Citizenship materials, including test study guides.

17. “News For You” weekly newspaper subscription for new readers.
