Literacy Volunteers - Winchester Area Programs

Basic Adult Reading (BAR) - One-on-one tutorials for students who have limited reading abilities and those who seek to improve reading and comprehension skills. Tutors may also assist with GED preparation and life skills.

English as a Second Language (ESL) - ESL provides language skills to residents for whom English is a second language. The ESL student population represents levels from beginning to advanced.

Computer Literacy - Classes are provided in basic computer skills 4 to 6 times per year. Classes can accommodate 10 students per session. Classes last for 6 weeks - software application 4 weeks. Emphasizes job-specific skills, vocabulary, and technology.
